OWNERS TO BRING ICE-SKATING RINK, ART INSTALLATIONS, FOOD TRUCKS & MORE
MIAMI, FL – Out of the Box Ventures, LLC, a subsidiary of leading Miami-based global real estate development firm, Lionheart Capital, who purchased Lakeside Mall in December 2019, plans to bring major interactive and community-driven activations to the mall in 2020.
Lakeside Mall will soon be home to a synthetic ice-skating rink that will allow for skating all year long. The rink will feature sound and lighting for disco skating and offer programs for young children to learn how to skate. The rink is manufactured by Xtraice Rinks, the world
leader among synthetic ice rink builders that has created a new generation of synthetic ice rinks that offer the best gliding sensation; they are the only synthetic ice manufacture in the world to work with the NHL. Xtraice also offers the only ecological ice on the market,
utilizing special technology to ensure an environmentally friendly artificial ice rink.
The rink will be available to rent for private parties, interactive activations, figure skating and more. From a frozen fantasy in the winter season to summer skating by tropical palms, mall goers can expect seasonal aesthetic changes to enhance their skating experience.

Following the excitement of the rink, is the addition of art installations to Lakeside. Out of the Box Ventures is committed to the arts and culture in the greater Detroit community and plans to bring creative solutions to the mall. These plans include bringing in graffiti artists to invigorate white spaces, add murals and create art galleries. In addition, there are plans to host art workshops for children and teens.
In the late Spring, Out of the Box Ventures will actuate Lakeside’s first Food Truck & Pop-Up Market. By curating a selection of Sterling Heights and Detroit’s top food vendors and working with local makers and artists, it is the vision to create a fun, urban, shopping
environment.
